Economic Development partnership brings new workforce training to strengthen Squamish Businesses #hardwiredforbusiness #squamishbusiness #adventuresinbusiness
Squamish, B.C. – Squamish Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Tourism Squamish and the District of Squamish are excited to announce a new workforce enhancement initiative has been purposefully developed to meet the unique needs of Squamish and will offer ongoing training and education program to all levels of employees in the community including front-line customer service staff, trades, managers and executives. The program will help enhance employee engagement which has a direct impact on employee retention statistics and productivity.
“We are very excited to be working with Christine McLeod of Everyday Leaders in executing our skills enhancement program. Christine is an invaluable addition to the project, bringing significant experience in working with Squamish businesses and executing training programs in the corridor.” said Louise Walker, Executive Director, Squamish Chamber. “Thanks to funding from the Province of British Columbia, we have created a unique partnership with Tourism Squamish and the District of Squamish to design a customized training program to improve the skills of the Squamish workforce and help local businesses grow” added Walker.
Christine McLeod of Everyday Leaders has been leading teams, developing training and managing business operations in the Sea to Sky corridor for over 20 years. “As a business community, we are presented with a unique opportunity to identify, develop and demonstrate a culture of service and leadership unique to Squamish. Whether we are interacting with locals, other businesses or visitors alike, each one of us can truly have a big impact on those around us. I am so grateful to the District, Tourism Squamish and the Chamber for having the vision to make this a reality.” says McLeod.
The first installment of the new Business Skills Workshop series: FRONTLINE COMMUNICATION will take place July 24, 2018 from 10am to 12pm at the Squamish Adventure Centre auditorium.
