Justine Brooks Jewelry Design

Embarking on a nine-month epic solo trip throughout the Middle East, East Africa, and Asia; Justine’s passion for researching stones, metal techniques, and design is obvious. The designer is continually creating opportunities to explore different countries in search of learning more about jewellery from around the world.

In 2005 Justine had her first hands-on experience with metal when studying traditional jewellery techniques in India, based in a small Himalayan town called Manali. The Justine Brooks Collection often takes on an international flavour, creating an interesting blend of east and west. Justine is one of those travelers who feel’s at ‘home’ when on the other side of the world. The designer believes the ability to explore other cultures is the greatest gift of life.

Justine is based in Squamish, Canada. The designer originally worked with ceramic pendants during her studies at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design but felt her calling to jewelry. She then enrolled in Vancouver Community College Jewellery Art and Design program to further her hands-on metalsmithing techniques. Justine knew that she would never be the "starving artist", it wasn’t in her blood. During her studies, JB had already launched her own brand, showed at Vancouver Fashion Week, and won “Western Livings Design of the Year Award – One to Watch” in 2010. JB is to have the perfect balance of creativity and business sense.

Justine never let ‘life’ get in the way of her dreams. Starting school various semesters with injuries from sports, such as a broken wrist from mountain biking and a torn ACL from soccer. Oh no, this would not hold JB back! Justine believes it is important to keep a healthy work/ life balance.  For JB this means spending time playing sports, traveling, and time with family. One of JB’s favorite activities is scuba diving. This love for the ocean comes naturally to this Pisces born baby. This is the creative fuel behind many of the nautical pieces in the Silver Earth Collection.
