About The Awards Event

On December 10th 2020, we’re inviting you to indulge in a stay-at-home gala and join the Squamish Chamber of Commerce in toasting the success of our resilient community. 2020 has shown us the grit and resilience of our businesses, the perseverance of our leaders and the strength of our community. This year, we will celebrate a little differently so that we can recognize those who have gone above and beyond during these challenging times.

We’ve unveiled new nomination categories to provide hard-earned recognition for the ever-changing conditions that our members have strived to respond to, in service of our local community. We’re championing responsiveness with our Community Collaboration Award which recognizes organizations that have shown exemplary collaborative response to the COVID-19 pandemic by working together with partners and adapting their operations to be of service to the Squamish community.

Similarly, to our former Rising Star Award, we have introduced the Youth Champion Award to acknowledge an individual that has demonstrated a high level of entrepreneurship spirit. A young leader who goes above and beyond and is doing great things in our community, or an organization that is giving back through initiatives and projects that support our incredible youth community.

Recognizing a local business that has demonstrated strength throughout the year, we felt it fitting to introduce identify resilience into our former Innovation & Resilience Award. A business that has created a new service, product or idea in order to survive during COVID19 will take home the Innovation & Resilience Award.

The Business Excellence Awards has been a long-standing annual event of the Squamish Chamber and in the spirit of tradition we will continue to celebrate a local citizen and business that are committed to enriching the quality of life in Squamish via our Bill Manson Citizen of the Year and Business of the Year Award.

On December 10th Chamber members and the wider community are invited to celebrate the nominees’ and winners’ accomplishments. The Squamish Chamber would like to thank our title sponsor RE/Max Sea to Sky and all the amazing event sponsors and partners who make this event possible year after year. We could not make this event possible without the support of the business community.

Last but not least, huge thanks to everyone who will be joining us in celebration. Taking time to recognize our valuable professionals within our community is vital to its continued growth and sustainability.
