We’re excited to launch a new program for summer 2019, Service Spotlight. This session is perfect for new and existing staff to ignite their customer service. We’ve combined the key elements from our three Frontline Workshops (Communications, Sales & Service, and Conflict Management). We’ve also created an engaging video, which will help your team discover Squamish – our history, heritage and people – and learn how to be a good Destination Ambassador.

Squamish Excellence: A Year in Review
Last summer (2018), the Squamish Chamber, Tourism Squamish and the District of Squamish came together to launch Squamish Excellence, a program of affordable training to help businesses grow. The partners recognized that Squamish businesses were facing challenges with recruitment and retention. To help address this, we created a program of affordable training for Squamish businesses. Investing in staff training is a great recruitment strategy, increasing job satisfaction and improving your reputation as a good employer.
Over the last year, we have welcomed over 250 participants to various sessions, including:
- Frontline Workshops (2 hrs): Communications, Sales & Service, and Conflict Management
- Stepping into Leadership: Three-day program for new and developing leaders
- Squamish Business Academy: Media Relations and Governance workshops
We’re also proud to have supported various Squamish businesses via the program, including Everyday Leaders (program development and facilitation), Substrate Solutions (graphic design for materials), TOPO Films (training video) and various meeting facilities (Executive Suites Hotel, Sandman Hotel, Aligned Collective, Squamish Adventure Centre). We are grateful to our Squamish partners, and the Province of B.C (who provided funding) for helping us make this program possible.
